Live Music: Sage Trunnell

Thursday February 19th

Sage Trunnell is a pianist and singer/songwriter local to North Florida. Sage has been playing piano since the age of four, and her powerful voice has been compared in sound to those such as Adele and Stevie Nicks. She performs moving covers from the soul and jazz genres by favourites like Amy Winehouse, Elvis, and Sara Bareilles. Sage also performs her own original music which draws upon her own personal experiences. Her sound combines elements from the indie and pop genres, and focuses on themes of hope and self discovery. She has been writing songs since childhood, and hopes to write music that anyone can connect to, and relate to their own individual experience. She currently has a self titled EP of five original songs available on all streaming platforms.

Since graduating from G.I.T in 1982, Tony Scozzaro has covered styles from Rock to Jazz. He has played with and opened for some noteworthy players such as Albert Collins,Slash, Mike Stern and most recently Buddy Guy. Since moving from Buffalo to St Augustine over 10 yrs ago, Tony has played in a number of bands and is currently working in the Buffalo Rose Duo with Pamela Faucett. Vinny Jacobs is a performing musician throughout South and North Florida. He grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, and was a self-taught guitarist who, at 16, began to perform popular music part time along Fort Myers Beach. After high school, Vinny studied classical guitar at Edison Community College and eventually moved to Tampa, where he attended the University of South Florida. There he continued studying classical guitar while majoring in Music Education, all the while playing music in a variety of places, continuing to hone his skills as a vocalist, guitarist, and all-around performer. Vinny eventually earned his Bachelor's Degree from USF and moved back to Fort Myers, and has been performing full time ever since. When playing at bars and restaurants throughout Florida, Vinny performs classic and new rock music with a mix of some beach/island music.

Edwin Barbosa AKA Carry The Day, was born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico where he was exposed to an array of different styles of music. At age 14, he picked up the guitar for the first time and has not been able to put it down since. At first he learned traditional Puerto Rican music, but then also fell in love with Rock, Blues and Jazz. Edwin will play a variety of music such as Folk and Alternative Folk, Spanish Rock/Pop, Latin Jazz, Bluegrass and many more.

Multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter Alexis Peramas has been holding his craft in and around Saint Augustine for close to 10 years. His accolades include multiple appearances for sing out loud festival, multiple festivals around Florida as well as multiple contracts for VIRGIN VOYAGES cruise line he’s open for the likes of Aaron Lee Tasjan as well as the Wallflowers. 

Alexis plays a mix of modern and classic singer songwriter songs blending his own unique style and rhythm.

With an EP under his belt and a few singles released on his Spotify of original music, Alexis’s reputation as a musician and performer continues to grow.

She has performed in sold-out, nationally televised venues and was the 2021 Young Arts National competition winner.

**Jazz, Blues & Soul Music** Russ' love of music began at an early age of eight, when he convinced his parents to enroll him in guitar lessons under the guidance of local guitar teachers, Joe Amplo and Al Faraldi. Russ started his first band in high school, drawing ideas from the great jazz and blues groups of the time. He was influenced by world class jazz guitarist. Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Pat Martino, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Hank Garland and Joe Pass. Russ moved to St. Augustine in 2022 to enjoy the Ancient City and sandy beaches. In the initial years, he played with a variety of local artists under the Soul Pylot name. He is the mastermind of the Ancient City Jazz Coalition (ACJC), and plays with the ACJC Burn Unit at local venues.

Since moving to Saint Johns in 2016, Jeremy has been performing as a solo musician and with various groups on guitar and drums. Some of these groups include The Conch Fritters, Dustin Barber, Barry Olsavsky, Ray Geiser, Mike Perez, Julie Durden, Jonathan Dotson, and more. Jeremy has multiple albums available to stream on most streaming services under the name “Jeremy B Price.” Price also teaches elementary music in Saint Johns County, and gives clinics to music teachers across the state on best practices in the music classroom.
